Chicago, IL, USA
Finally, I have a different city to type into my dateline.
My mom volunteered to grandma-sit so I could spend three days in Chicago so I could go to the first ever minor league baseball game in the history of Wrigley Field.
(It was rained out in the bottom of the ninth. Amazing.)
Anyway, I’ve had a great time.
I’ll post a full report later, probably over the weekend. For now, some quick comments:
- Chicago is a great city. I don’t like it as much as DC, but it’s not as NYC-like as I had feared.
- Public transportation is great.
- People are nice, but it’s not as uber-friendly as I had heard.
- The most controversial statement I have ever maked on this website: Wrigley Field is great, but it cannot compare to Fenway Park.
- Milwaukee was, believe it or not, a worthwhile side trip.
That’s about all for now. I need to get some sleep. I’m flying directly to DC tomorrow and heading to work.
