Gary: Rutgers = “homey”

STRATFORD, NJ, USA

Apparently I was quoted in the Rutgers University student newspaper seven and a half years ago.

Among the many visitors included prospective student Gary Butterworth, a junior at Highland Regional High School, and his mother. They toured the Rutgers Spirit Shop in the Rutgers Student Center on the College Avenue campus.

“I’m very impressed with all the day’s events,” Butterworth said. He said he had expected the size of the University to overwhelm him, but it did not. “It was … homey.”

He said he especially liked the information session presented about the School of Communication, Information and Library Studies by Roger Cohen, associate professor of journalism and mass media.

Butterworth said he will definitely be applying to Rutgers this coming fall.

haha!

I stumbled upon that yesterday, and it made me laugh.

Believe it or not, I wasn’t even googling myself; I was just searching for some of my website stats on Google Reader when I found that online.  I had never seen it before.  I don’t even remember talking to a reporter that day!
(Although I do remember that Roger Cohen put on a nice presentation.)

The internet is a strange place!

(For the record, I did indeed apply to Rutgers, and I was accepted.  But I chose Syracuse instead.)
