Update

I didn’t plan on doing an update today.  I just have too much work to do.  A 10 page paper on the proposed U.S. missile defense due on Monday (7 pages done of that) and a 10 pager on the role of subnationalist movements in Northern Italy on Italian politics (haven’t started that one, but I have a few books out and a thesis in mind) due next Monday.  I really wouldn’t be in too bad of shape, but I really want to have everything done by Thursday afternoon so I can enjoy my work-free weekend next week.  For the first time since October 12, I’ll be in Syracuse on a weekend and not have to work.  I don’t have any plans yet, but I just have to find a way to enjoy this.  I never get a weekend off.

Anyway, with all that hanging over me, I really shouldn’t be wasting time to do this, but my roommate is conversing loudly with some video games and listening to even louder Woodstock music, so I really can’t concentrate on my work.  It’s really frustrating.  I asked him to keep it down, but to no avail.  Ah well.  I tried.  What more can I do?

Overall, I’ve had a pretty decent weekend so far.  On the downside, this cold has really gotten the better of me and I feel completely drained.  I have no idea how I’m going to function at work, standing up for 4 hours.  But I’ll make do.  Speaking of work, just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, it does.  I went in last night, and my “KIMMEL SECURITY” jacket was gone.  I have to tell you, losing $2 of my meal allowance every night totally sucked.  Not being able to sit down anymore is beyond bad.  But losing the jacket was the kick in groin.  It’s just demoralizing.  I can’t really explain it, but even though the other things they’ve taken away from me this year are more important, losing the jacket was a huge moral loss.

Besides that, though, this weekend has been pretty good.  I got a bunch of library books for both papers I have due, and I finally got to do my laundry today.  (Wow, it just struck me how boring my website really is.  I’m talking about doing my laundry on here!).  Last night I went to Habitat for Humanity’s Date Auction to cheer on my Branson trip leader (who’s worth $35!) and afterwards 5 of us who went to Branson over Spring Break went down to Planet 505 to see a benefit concert with some cool SU bands (we ran into a 6th person there.  Small world.).  I could only stay for about half an hour thanks to work, but it was a lot of fun to get to hang out.  Us Bransoneers are supposed to get together again tomorrow afternoon, so that should be fun.

Other than this entry, no other changes to the website.  But I’ve proofread just about all of it now and I’ve found a lot of mistakes that I’ll fix whenever I get around to doing the big update I promised, probably right after Easter.  Now, it’s off to Kimmel.

Current Mood: Frustrated
Current Music: 60s shit I’ve never heard before creeping over from roommate’s side of the room.
